The General Data Protection Regulation comes into force in the UK on 25 May 2018. It represents an important overhaul in data protection rules, making them better suited for the modern digital age and newer forms of personal data. GDPR is complex and will have a substantial impact on organisations conducting business within Europe. One thing is clear, ignoring GDPR is not an option and businesses need to start to prepare for GDPR now.
Blackadders are running a one hour event covering the key changes expected under the GDPR, how GDPR applies to your organisation, what steps you should be considering to comply with GDPR and how to mitigate the risk of substantial fines and reputational damage. Campbell Clark, Head of Business Services and Ruth Weir, Senior Solicitor within the Corporate and Commercial Team, will lead discussions to help you get ahead of planning for GDPR.
